Bayer HealthCare Consumer Care Division manufactures over-the-counter drugs and nutritional supplements. Its Brands include Bayer Aspirin, Aleve, Alka-Seltzer, Midol, Talcid, Bepanthen, and One-a-Day. One of the largest manufacturers of OTC drugs in the world, the division has production facilities in Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia and sells 170 products in over 100 countries at pharmacies and other retail outlets.

Bayer engaged MindStream resources to design and build this project. The budget process begins by collecting Cost Center budget inputs in SAP and moving that information into Hyperion Planning. Volume information is received from Product Supply via web forms. These volumes will serve as the base of the budget. Excel Templates were created by the FP&A group and distributed to the Plants to collect the proposed standards for the coming year. Once the standards are collected and input into Hyperion Planning the Revenue projections are entered and the system calculates much of the income statement. The rest of the costs are input by Brand or input as a whole and allocated to the Brands.
